Vision
When I started this semester my vision had three key elements: importance of quality, simplicity and usability for everyone. Pursuing this vision would help me prevent the gap, between the digitalized world and non-digitalized world, from getting bigger. It will help me make quality, non-rip-off, products which are simple to use for everyone and don’t require the knowledge of the digitalized world.
I still envision this, though I found out in my first semester, that I want to add two key elements:
Functionality in design is one. I want to design things that really work and are not farfetched.
Designs that give a new dimension to already existing products, is also something I find interesting, for example creative DIY products made of everyday things. Finding weaknesses and strengths in products and using these for new designs will result in a whole new variety of improved designs. In order to come up with these kind of products you have to be able to look at designs, from a different perspective.
